Abstract   (447 Views)
Aims: This study aimed to assess the patient safety culture and its predictive factors among health care providers working at a hospital in Iran.
Instrument & Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 250 health care providers at the hospital were recruited through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Hospital Survey of Patient Safety Culture, which included 42 items across 12 dimensions of safety culture. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 19.
Findings: The overall level of safety culture among health care providers was moderate (3.17%). The highest and lowest levels of patient safety culture reported by health care providers were observed in the dimensions of teamwork across organizational units (65.9%) and organizational learning (13.42%), respectively. There were significant relationships between the total patient safety culture score and the variables of sex, age, and shift type (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Patient safety culture is below the standard in the studied hospital, and is associated with age, sex, and shift type.
